The Lounge Proved a Train Can Be Surprisingly Inviting
If the bedroom is the quietest part, the lounge is the most welcoming. Mila knew this area had to work hard: it needed to be comfortable for long evenings, stylish enough to match the rest of the carriage, and relaxed so guests wouldn't feel like they were in a novelty. So she built it around comfort first. A deep sofa runs along one side, piled with textured cushions and soft throws. Opposite, a compact shelf holds books, plants, and a small TV, though Mila says the view outside usually wins. One of her favorite details is the small stove-style heater that anchors the room. It instantly transforms the mood, making the space feel like a real home rather than a converted object.
