Aloe Vera Propagation Using a Banana
So, what does a banana have to do with aloe vera? The answer is straightforward: aloe vera plants cannot produce new leaves on their own, so proper cutting is essential for propagation. A banana serves as the perfect medium for growing a new aloe vera plant. Keep the banana peel intact and cut a small square opening in the middle. Insert a piece of aloe vera into the opening and leave it for at least 24 hours. The banana will turn brown, but when you remove the aloe vera piece, you'll notice it has developed numerous new roots! Next, prepare a mixture of clean sand and garden compost, and plant the rooted aloe vera in this blend. Before you know it, you'll have a brand new aloe vera plant!
