The damp sheet trick
Here’s a clever fix. After washing your fitted sheet and flat sheet, remove them from the dryer or clothesline while they are still slightly damp. They shouldn’t be soaking wet—just a little moist. Give them a gentle shake, then put the fitted sheet on your mattress as usual, followed by the flat sheet if you use one. Let the sheets air-dry completely—this takes only about 10 minutes—and then finish making your bed. You’ll be left with a smooth, crisp surface. No need to worry about mildew or mold; as long as the sheets are only slightly damp, it’s perfectly safe.
