Four times more bacteria
According to a research report by Carrentals, the highest CFU (colony forming units) levels inside cars are found on steering wheels, averaging 629 CFU. To put this in perspective, a smartphone has about 100 CFU, while a public toilet seat averages 172 CFU. This means a steering wheel hosts nearly four times the bacteria of a toilet seat. Disgusting! We're reaching for our cleaning supplies immediately to ensure our cars are spotless again.
