How dogs become infected
Veterinarian Dominique Gevaert told HLN about other ways pets can contract the disease: “Dogs can get infected by eating snails that carry the lungworm. These snails might accidentally end up inside your dog, for instance when the dog eats grass or drinks water outdoors. Even licking the slime trail left by a snail can be dangerous.”
