The Firstborn
According to Adler, birth order impacts the firstborn child the most. Initially, the firstborn is an only child, receiving all of their parents' attention and love. When a sibling arrives, their position changes dramatically, potentially causing feelings of inferiority and affecting their confidence—something they may grapple with into adulthood. However, there are positive aspects as well. Firstborn children are entrusted with significant responsibility at a young age, which often turns them into effective leaders later in life. Key traits: perfectionistic, ambitious, responsible, caring, trustworthy, sometimes insecure.
