Carpet Beetle
This tiny creature can cause significant damage to furniture and woolen carpets. Regular vacuuming is the best preventive measure. If possible, wash rugs periodically according to the care label instructions. Carpet beetles are also drawn to old bird nests and dead animals, so check your roof and gutters occasionally and remove any nests or carcasses. These beetles cannot survive a wash with water temperature above 60 degrees Celsius, and boric acid can also be used to control them.
