Family Tradition
The Mistretta family doesn’t mind that their tree is no longer the most beautiful in the neighborhood. Its sentimental value is immeasurable, and they wouldn’t part with it for anything. How do they keep it alive? “Food, water, and repotting it,” says Joe Mistretta. Whether we could do the same is uncertain, but we are certainly impressed. Who knows—maybe the tree will endure for another 30 years.
