Rehabilitation
The force of her knees hitting the dashboard caused Gráinne to break nearly every bone in her face. Additionally, cerebrospinal fluid leaked from her skull, and she lost two teeth. Surgeons worked tirelessly to reconstruct her face, but a year after the crash, a complication arose: her entire forehead had to be removed. For two years, Gráinne lived without a forehead until she received a ceramic replacement. She endured extensive rehabilitation and still struggles with memory loss, difficulty concentrating, chronic headaches, and an inability to handle crowded environments. She has no memory of the accident or the time surrounding it.
