Select two potatoes that will just fit inside your shoes. This method is designed to stretch the toe box, giving your toes more room. Peel the potatoes and wrap each one in a paper towel or newspaper. Insert them into the shoes and leave them overnight. As the potatoes dry out, they will gently stretch the material. Additionally, potatoes can absorb unpleasant odors from your shoes. This technique works best with leather shoes. For fabric shoes, results may vary, and the moisture and smell from the potato could transfer to the fabric, which might not be desirable.
