Divorce
Only five years after their marriage, Charles and Diana proved to be an ill-suited match. We say "only" because, in the end, their marriage lasted 15 years. There was a 13-year age gap between them, and they often disagreed on matters. In 1986, Charles began an affair with Camilla, after which Diana started a relationship with James Hewitt. It wasn't until 1992 that the royal family announced the couple's separation, and it took another four years, until 1996, for the divorce to become final.
