Here's the method people are using. Begin with a rose stem and strip off the leaves. Cut the base of the stem at a 45-degree angle. Then, take a potato and bore a small hole just large enough to snugly accommodate the stem. Insert the stem into the potato. Next, place the potato in a pot filled with soil, covering it while leaving the stem exposed. Some individuals also place a cut plastic bottle over the top to mimic a miniature greenhouse environment.
