Sudden Weakness, Heaviness, or Numbness in an Arm or Leg
One of the hallmark stroke clues is sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body. This could manifest as an arm feeling oddly heavy, a hand not cooperating, or a leg suddenly seeming unreliable when you stand. Some people describe their limb as “not listening” anymore. Others find they can't lift both arms evenly or keep one arm raised. Recognizing sudden one-sided weakness or numbness in the face, arm, or leg is critical for prompt action.
