The wolf, however, did not attack anyone. It walked with a purpose, its eyes fixed on something ahead. A nurse, initially trembling with fear, noticed that the wolf was carrying something in its mouth. As it drew closer, she saw it was a small, injured puppy. The wolf gently laid the puppy at her feet and then looked up at her with pleading eyes, as if asking for help. The nurse’s fear melted away, replaced by a wave of emotion. She knelt down, tears streaming down her face, and carefully picked up the tiny, shivering animal. The wolf, having delivered its charge, turned and disappeared into the night, leaving the hospital staff in awe of the extraordinary act of compassion.
