The Kitchen and Dining Area Became the Heart of the Home
Deeper into the carriage, Mila created the space she uses most: a long kitchen and dining area that radiates warmth at the center of the train. Rather than opting for a sleek, modern look, she chose a more lived-in aesthetic with wood surfaces, open shelving, and a mix of old and new items that seem collected over time. The counters have a slightly rustic finish, the shelves hold mismatched mugs and glass jars, and small appliances are tucked away to keep the room serene. She didn't want a showroom kitchen. She wanted a place where soup could simmer for hours while rain tapped on the windows. That feeling of ease is exactly what she achieved.
