Rather than opting for a sleek, modern look, she chose a more lived-in aesthetic with wood surfaces, open shelving, and a mix of old and new items that seem collected over time. The counters have a slightly rustic finish, the shelves hold mismatched mugs and glass jars, and small appliances are tucked away to keep the room serene. She didn't want a showroom kitchen.
